Patricia Balsas Clavería.

BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry at University of Zaragoza (Spain). She obtained her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2011. She carried out her post-doctoral research at Institut D`Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) in Barcelona (Spain) in the group of Dr. Elías Campo, where she developed a translational research focused on characterize the tumor microenvironment in aggressive mantle cell lymphoma. She deciphered for the first time the presence of an immunosuppressive microenvironment in this aggressive disease that impaired tumor immunosurveillance and could explain common low responses to treatment found in these patients. She joined to M2BE group in December 2022 as senior scientist. Her work is based on the development of and innovative microfluidic-based platform to evaluated the efficacy of different cell immunotherapy strategies against solid tumors.
