Biomedical engineer
Julio Rodríguez Fernández.
Biomedical engineer and Masters on Biomedical engineering at Universitat Politécnica de Valéncia. He carried out all his science carrer at Prof. Gloria Gallego’s lab working on injectable and printable hydrogels for liver tissue engineering. During his master thesis he collaborated within the Prof. Thomas Groth’s lab in Halle (Germany) and contributed to characterize hydrogels based on oxidised polysaccharides (Biomolecules. 2020). His thesis focused to develop a gelatin and hyaluronic acid versatile system which improved hepatic cell culture on 3D platforms, rescue an animal model based on acetaminophen induced liver injury and translate the injectable system to a bioink for bioprinting (Biomater. Adv. 2023).
Currently post-doctoral researcher at UNIZAR and CIBA working for VASTO project, developing a novel microfluidic platform to study new CAR-T therapies against solid tumors.
