Verónica Sosa Castellano
Graduated in Dentistry at the Universidad de la República (Uruguay) and completed a master’s in Biomedical Research at the University of Valladolid.
My bachelor’s final project focused on oxidative stress biomarkers in saliva and their relationship with periodontal disease. During my master’s, I investigated the TP53 gene as a genetic biomarker, analyzing molecular changes such as inflammation, oxidative stress, apoptosis, necroptosis, and autophagy after retinal detachment in a transgenic murine model.
Currently, I am working on my doctoral thesis in the M2BE group, developing strategies to enhance bone regeneration in a nitro-oxidative environment, specifically in diabetes mellitus, and assessing its impact on bone neoformation.
